Leicester College and Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) Braunstone Open Learning Centre

This video is part of an LSIS project to identify the potential contribution of FE colleges to public service priorities and to partners in their localities. The experiences highlighted in the video were discussed at a seminar and the barriers and opportunities for effective engagement captured in the report available here.




This role is now recognised formally through the new duty on FE colleges to promote economic and social well-being in the locality, to come into effect in Spring 2010. LSIS is carrying out work for BIS to identify and develop effective practice, which will build on the thinking and experience of the video and the seminar report.
