I have just bought a Mcnally strumstick,

i play the mandolin,have you any advice, on tuning the standard strumstick,

apart from G D G.

@mandolindawn Hi David, Well you could buy my strumstick book (I'll send you the youtube video) which explains different tunings (called modes).

G D G is the Mixolydian mode (key of G)

G C G is the New Ionian mode (key of C)

G D D is the Ionian mode (key of G)

I tune my standard down to F C F (key of F) or F Bb F (key of Bb) or F C C (key of F) because it suits my voice better.
