LEGO Racers Early Test Animation

You might know Data Design Interactive made the Rock Raiders games for LEGO. What you might not know is that they also did a ton of other 3D related work for LEGO, including animating most of the intros for LEGO video games and making the 3D LEGO Magazine comics. Karl White, a programmer at DDI, recently found this old test animation on a backup disk and uploaded it to RockRaidersUnited.org for us to see. It was a test render to see how the cars would look when fully animated. Enjoy!

That isn't an early test. It's the part of the intro to the game when you first go on.

@KrazyKids3000 It's a test animation for that part of the intro - notice how there's less detail around the tunnel (like the missing shields), the tree flies at a different angle, and you see ALL the cars come out of the tunnel, including a blue and black version of Rocket Racer's car, while in the actual game intro, you only see Gypsy Moth's car before it switches to a different camera angle entirely. The original video resolution was 320 x 200, YouTube stretches it out to fill the larger video resolution, making everything look a bit blocky.
