Animation: Dust ring / Asteroid belt

Animation of a planetary dust ring. Animated and modelled with Blender ( http://www.blender.org ). The ring contains around 8000 objects, was created with the asteroid-belt-script (see http://www.rabanti.ch ) and mixed (composite) with different layers.

Oh i didnt read the rest of the description. Do you think the script could be used for the asteroid belt.

Sure. Many shapes (of the belt) are possible. But sadly, the script runs only in Blender 2.49. Due some personal reasons, I could not port the script to 2.5 yet.

Did you use the same rock object for the ring and just duplicate it and how did you do the dust? And is the ring on a path with a medium influence?
