Yesterday, was recorded by the Beatles on their 1965 album Help, is one of the best known songs by legendary songwriter Paul McCartney. In this iVideosongs title, Beatles LOVE producer Giles Martin details the history behind the composition and recording of this Beatles staple. Additionally, iVideosongs instructor Rob Schumann shows how to play the chord progression and finger-style technique that make up this iconic ballad. Tuned down a whole step and best-suited to intermediate-level players, Yesterday is one of the most memorable Beatles songs to play. This is a sample of a 47 minute video available for download at iVideosongs.com.

  • @OloIsNumba1 Agreed, this is a preview lesson. To be honest, if you have been doing your reasearch as a musician you shouod already know the chords...just this snippet of the video immensely helped my chord choice and strumming technique, more so than any other ten min vid i saw. great "preview", and nevermind the haters.

  • @musicman1296 It is standard just tuned down a whole step

  • George Martins Son?

  • it's most covered song of all time not only Beatles

  • thank you for this video, now I can play the guitar, piano and banjo with all this information, I am now leaving preggo chicks all over the place, they just can't resist my playing.

  • yes and please mention the tuning not standard.

  • Sorry, just to clarify. The high notes are strummed UP, NOT DOWN. He strums the high notes up while plucking bass note with thumb, creates a very smooth sound. Not bashing you, just trying to help be more specific with sound. Cheers

  • Strumming is NOT correct. Not strummed down on the high strings, they are actually pinched with hand as he plucks bass note at the same time. Listen to it and hear what I mean. After playing it on record and a few LIVE Beatle concerts in 65, Paul strummed like you are here. But that was only 70's to today.

  • I covered this song by slowing it down just a tiny bit. Check it out, hopefully you like it. Cheers!

  • right ok preview lesson so when do we get the rest lol
