This is my cover of Randy Scruggs' arrangement of Amazing Grace. Randy's version can be heard on the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's album "Will The Circle Be Unbroken". He won a Grammy for the song!

  • Oh yes, Scott: this is very very well done indeed! And your sound...its does not get any better! (this is the sound I would LOVE to obtain...) the basses and trebles are superbly well balanced. And as for your play...: very precise play ; which makes it all very much enjoyable...!

    PS: these Elexir 0.13's are my favorites... my guitar just prefers these...

  • Thanks, Pascal! I'm really happy with those mics and the MOTU interface. They do an excellent job of capturing the guitar and the noise floor is significantly lower than anything I've toyed with before.

    That custom Elixir set uses mediums for all of the strings that are tuned down and lights for the strings that stay at "standard". The result is, more or less, the same string tension when tuned down to DADGAD and the extra beefiness on the treble strings keeps them from sounding thin.
