the answer to cars is just keep to yourself if they beep just sarcastically wave to them as your thier friend. if you provoke them they have about 1.7 tonnes of metal over you. carbon fibre does break you know

One small roll of scotchlite can be cut up into flashes and applied all over your bike. I cut mine into shapes to match the graphics already on the bike, and added it to the front forks, pedal cranks, seat post and rear forks. It looks really cool and only costs about £3! Never take the reflectors off your bike especially the wheel ones. They are there for a reason. Unless you've scotch-lited your bike like mine, you are non-reflective from the side!

I have a helmet with a flasher on top. I am told that it also makes a great reflector during the day.

#1 for bike riders to ride on the road you have to have complete and full spatial awareness!
#2 and arguably a tie for #1 you have to own your lane.
I'm from Ontario, Canada our HTA stipulates that a cyclist can take up the full amount horizontal plane on their lane if the need be to avoid debris and danger. Ideally you should be on the right side of that lane but if there are potholes you have the right legally to occupy the full lane. Don't let any drivers bully you.
#3 Be humble, you aren't as big as those cars or coated in metal. So you break, they don't. While you shouldn't let them bully you, be reasonable.
however I reccomend
#4 Wear cleats, they make really nice dents in those cars who try to push you off the road.
