There's no such thing as "the best drummers" it's just a matter of opinion. For instance I would say some of my favorite drummers are John Bonham, Bill Ward, and Dave Lombardo. (There are more though)

Slipknot aren't the worst they're all right. The worst are probably Black Veil Brides, and ALLOT of the Metalcore genre bands.

Well, i prefer death and thrash, as generes, and their drums too, but i agree u that the quality on some drumms of this genere(the genere of this bands!, drie straits, deep purple.., i think it's rock(officialy), but i wouldnt have calledem rock) are better, as far as in "drumm melodies" is concerned

Big apologies first up because I don't like death/thrash metal, but I'm sure it has its merits. I missed the bus on that genre being born too early to get into it. I stand by my love of Ian Paice, Neil Peart, John Bonham, Keith Moon, Cozy Powell and the rest - with the exception of Ringo. I wish you'd listen to something like Led Zeppelin's "Moby Dick" live on "The Song Remains The Same" album before passing judgement on technical difficulty.I'd listen to anything you's cite as 'quality' thrash.
