@beta447 well actually i know many people that get 20-40% out of their checks. They are certainly not rich, they would be considered lower middle class, so that part of it at least is true. i don't know how the tax rate was after WWII but i will say that it is frustrating to work your ass off and have almost half of it taken away to pay for social programs you're never going to benefit from (ahem, social security?)

@beta447 Man.. From a foreign point of view. All of FOX news makes Americans look like ass-holes man.. I mean, no disrespect, i'm sure America's cool and all (i'm from Canada btw). Ok first off how much did he say people were paying for taxes at that time, 20-40%? Where the fuck is he getting those numbers from? And again when he says the top marginal tax rate was 94%. That means that the richest assholes in the country kept 6% of the money, the rest kept most of their money. This is his biggest blunder/successful implantation of bullshit into the minds of gullible people I've seen yet.
