I've got friends that are CO's and my Neice's husband's a CO at Salinas Valley State Prison. I'm ex-law enforcement and now that I'm older I counsel ex-cons and keep in touch with a couple of family members that are in the Prison system. I've seen both sides of the system for many years. CO's are just trying to do a job and should be commended for showing up at work every day. Most inmates are actually just scared children in large muscular (and dangerous) bodies. The whole system sucks...

@apharot I never disrespected a female C/O,let me tell you something,if you've NEVER been in Jail or Prison please DONT SPEAK ON WHAT YOU NOT KNOW.These Women would get stabbed or beat up and Most of them had it comeing.Most Male guards where kick back but the females would even trip on how we had our shoes tied.Thats a POWER TRIP if you ask me,like they think"This is pay back to men,all my life I have been the WEAKER SEX but now the tables turned"Dont do the talk if you've NEVER DONE THE WALK.

@jccp18 Control yourself then. Don't say anything, especially if you know you're going to end up in the hole. Had you not tried to murder someone, you wouldn't have been in prison in the first place. Bossing you around is their job. As far as disrespecting, respect is earned. Breaking the law does not earn you respect with most normal people in society. I don't understand why felons don't understand that breaking the law is a bad thing, and that respect is not given for that.

@abcdefgfx I'm with you 100%,I did 9 yrs for attemted murder and the Female C/O's where on some kinda POWER TRIP and when they got stabbed or beat up the News would say they ONLY DID THEIR JOB,but that These Animals(Inmates) had no pitty for a woman,mother,sister, its all bullshit.Most females getting assaulted where strait BITCHES,talking shit,bossing around,and disrespecting the inmates.Some would even dress all sexy showing off their titts and if you said something you would be in the hole.

Attractive women really should only work in female prisons and male in male. Inmates jackoff on females all day long and don't understand why men cover up their windows for it and calls US disrespectful. A man should respect women. Oddly its usually the black ones who acuse you of being rascist that do. They also are the most rascist. I heard an offender who was otherwise very intelligent and moral get mad cuz I blocked off an offender's window cuz he jacked off towards a woman.
