  • Your 302 can pull that camper with no problems!!!!!! just re grease your trailer wheel bearings, and have your transmission fluid and filter changed!!!!! Send me some pics!!!! cyclonecj2@tds.net -chris-

  • I want to know if my 1992 Buick Park Avenue could pull my 1965 16 foot (I think) Shasta trailer my brother says no but I am still curious

    sillysans

  • @sillysans What is the engine in the Buick, a V-6? I think you can tow it but not for long distances..... If you have a good hitch try it out? Keep and eye on your engine heat, and do you have electric brakes for the trailer? Back in the day a lot of people towed with the old straight sixers........ Just go easy on her.... Let me know... -Chris-

  • I'll try again the 1st post didnt take I guess: this video is very good for me. My Mother is from Maine have relatives still up there, WELL I own a 1982 country squire 302 engine automatic overdrive transmission. Honey and I ADORE rvs a similar sized camper might/could come through. I believe any engine can pull a camper the trans and suspension do all the work. Could this the trans in my wagon pull an equivalent load?

  • This video is REAL good for me. I have a chance, a possibilty at a camper of similar size free that I would adore to own! it will be towed with what concerns me: my 1982 ford country squire. The Ford wagon here has a 352???? engine. My 1982 only has a 302 BUT in my opinion ANY engine will tow pretty much anything. The heart of towing is the AUTOMATIC transmission and rear suspension. Any thoughts please??? T

  • Wow, this is just great you posted this video, what an awesome combo! I have a sealed bid in on a 1963 Shasta 16' trailer at an estate sale and my friend has a straight rust free 1965 Ford Country Sedan wagon for sale. Pretty coincidental huh! I'm crossing my fingers I too can have a set up like yours cruising down the road! >Brian

  • I will, this next week our weather this week end will be cold and rainy. I will call it 1962 Shasta Deluxe.

    Thanks, Dave

  • Enjoyed your videos of the Shasta.

I just got a 1962 Shasta Deluxe. The wood is in great shape and the sink and shower works but the toilet is gone and covered over and carpeted. So I have a little work ahead of me but it's a blast to camp in.

Good luck to you in your effort to return to a better camping era.

    Dave

  • I just found a 1960 shasta up in Eloy ,AZ and brought it to Florence its all complete and 50 yrs old it has very nice oak interior, with very wild grain in the wood,
