Dr Who Pyramids of Mars 1-1

this is one of those episodes that i liked as a kid. make sure to watch parts 2, 3 and 4 for the conclusion of Pyramids of Mars.

I miss old weird tv. Who knew it was once ok to do serious straight drama for children. I liked this show when I was a kid because it didn't feel like it was about worshipping people who are young and beautiful, it was so different from the rest, an opening theme that was just a vortex with a simple da da da da Pink Floyd-esque theme, so not formula tv, while today it's all about generic, campy, pop culture worshipping, gratuitously sexualized, lowest common denominator television.

Pity the current series (2013) appears to have abandoned the rising and falling rotor in the centre of the console. The Tardis was the only spaceship in science fiction that had a console like that. Now they've got that daft revolving ceiling thing going on, reminds me of Joe 90. It's awful. Bring back the time rotor and don't have it going all the way to the ceiling!
