It is amazing how ignorant people can be. North American's have a twisted view of what the purpose of women's breasts are for. When was the last time you saw a woman breastfeeding her baby in public? Yet we should see it all the time and we don't. In other countries you do and it is totally natural.

@eduarrdo839 Its really not unusual. Google "child led weaning" and "extended breastfeeding." Also Dr. Jack Newman has a great page on why to breastfeed your toddler. The WHO recommends breastfeeding for a MINIMUM of two years. The average age of weaning world wide is around 4. Breasts have become way over sexualized which has led to women being embarrassed to admit that they have continued to bf. Its really very sad.

I don't get it

It's one thing to nurse your child a very beautiful thing but to let your child just pull your boob out without you saying ok is messed up furthermore to whip it out at a party in front of everyone and then put a very beautiful thing between mother and child on you tube to me is just bizarre I work with a lady she brings her 2 yr old to work everytime she holds her the kid sticks one hand down her shit and squeezes her other tit with the other hand while dealing with customers

@wisconsingirl9 Listen to your own feelings. If you are uncomfortable with it then do not continue. My child weaned herself at 3 years old and I was perfectly happy to continue as long as she wished knowing that most children only feed until 4 at the most. I was comfortable but others may not be. But don't let others push you to do something you don't wish to do.
