His name is Schenkel. When you say "Shenkles" it sounds like a skin disease.

TV show called Beat Club, Germany I think, probably 1968, judging by who's in the band here. (FZ, Roy Estrada, Jim Black, Art Tripp, Ian Underwood, Buzz Gardener, Jim Sherwood)

@The1belal yes period

Uncle Meats one the great albums of that era before rock music became commercialised by record companys, I think FZ intended the album to be a reaction against that.

If you play Zappa's songs enough you start to hear the references to others. Some of Zappa's favorite riffs slide into other songs, sometimes just 3 notes. Zappa did this with solos a lot, aka the entire Joe's Garage album (excluding "Crew Slut.")

Not enough volume.

Frank actually named Essra Mohawk "Uncle Meat" when she was in the MOI. He released her first album on his Verve/Bizarre label and the her landmark Primordial Lovers soon followed and has been called the mother album of "grrrl power." Essra is also known for writting Cyndi Lauper's "Change of Heart" and singing "Interjections" & "Sufferin' Till Suffrage" for Schoolhouse Rock...
