Brompton Cemetery remains, perhaps, the greatest of all London's cemeteries and is one of the most remarkable and peaceful places in the city. It has also been used as a location for countless films, most recently "Sherlock Holmes". This footage was taken on the 4th January 2010, a bitterly cold day just before the UK's worst winter weather for decades swept in. The music is by John Barry, from the movie "Somewhere in Time" and is taken from the album "Moviola".

Thanks for this, Brompton is the last of the "magnificent 5" London cemeteries I have yet to visit. I have done Norewood, kensel green, highgate, and Abney grove. I am looking forwards to it. By the way, if you love a good victorian cemetery, visit Arnos Vale in Bristol, it is mind blowing.

I visited this place 2 weeks ago during my extended 'holiday' in London. This cemetary is mindblowing; the amount of graves and headstones has to be seen to be believed.
I also found out later that its a place where gay guys go 'cottaging', like Hampstead heath, although I saw no evidence of that, and no, I wasn't there to pick up a piece of tail either!!lol!
