@Cascorio1 I tossed all the 1st gen steering, suspension and brakes and did a 2nd gen front sub frame and steering swap. that got rid of the big steering box. the key to making this whole thing fit was the early ej22 SOHC heads. they are very compact and just barely allow enough room to let the steering shaft pass by. the later DOHC or SOHC are way larger and wouldn't fit with out some serious work. i wanted to keep this as simple as i could.

@Cascorio1 in my opinion I would stay away from the ea82T like it was sick. they have way to many head gasket issues for me to ever think they would be a good idea to swap to. And they never seem to make tons of power with out a lot of work. A stock NA ej22 puts out more power then a ea82T any day of the week and wont blow head gaskets if you look at it wrong.
My next thing I'm going to play with was a eg33 in a rx7, not sure if I would stay first gen or try a second gen.
