lol, tell me the story behind this race. Did the GT owner run his mouth or something?

he worked with me and thought a newer GT was faster than my cobra. I showed him the error of his ways. Told I would give him 2 lengths and he stole the break on top of that.

I just baught a 1997 Cobra, 63K original miles, single owner, all service records.

You were right about the 4v dohc vs 3v sohc.

I've done 3.73 gears and an aluminum driveshaft so far.

@ralatorre9 Powerband and that was dealt with in the C head models. Not to mention the stock Teksid block was good for well over 1000hp untouched. It's a superior motor, I've yet to see a untouched 3v pull over 600hp on stock internals, I'll show you numerous B and C head cobras doing just that with a power adder.

@ralatorre9 That was one slow Cobra, then. And What? Please do some research, the stock 3.17s aren't the best ratio but there's nothing wrong with them. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with the stock tranny. And again, nothing wrong with the stock coil packs, not as nice as the 99+ COP setup but nothing truly flawed about the coil packs. The 3V does NOT have the mid to high end powerband has the 4V does,what the 3V does have over a B head cobra is bottom end, the B heads ruined the low end

@CalypsoNotch408 Opinions. and i do! I used to own a 96 cobra.

the gearing ratio, tranny, and distributor systems were not very good at all. I can say my old 3v 06 gt easily killed my old cobra. No questions. cut it out you're being a kid.

Naturaly the SOHC 3V 4.6 made 2 less hp AND 20 more ft lb. than the 96' DOHC 4V 4.6l. with 8 less valves and 2 less camshafts.

This is obviously due to technology.

In this instance the gt is indeed quicker than the old 4.6l DOHC 4V cobra.

@ralatorre9 None are opinions, they're all fact. Do a little research on some mustang forums if you need to, because 3Vs will always be stomped by a 4V mod for mod. Nice try though. I bet you drive a S197 lol

@ralatorre9 Not a fact, at all. A 3V SOHC 281 will not, and can't make more power than ANY cobra. Why you say 01 and down I don't know. Because the 96-98 B head was actually just as high flow as the 99, 01 C head. And it's been proven that the B intake manifolds flow better than the Cs. So you comment is void. The minimal 10 HP difference between the B motors and Cs is from the cams, that's it. My friend has a I/E S167 and I walked him in my bolt on 96 Cobra like it was all fun and games.
