Seeing BiFiMSX play this game, made me want to do a 'quick' recording as well.
At stage 7 you need to connect 4 pipes to pass every stage though, so the recording turned out to be rather long. List of useful timestamp chapters:
0:24 Title screen
1:22 First jar of ice water.
1:32 Rocket Animation
2:22 First set of drills
2:51 Hot Air Balloon animation
3:26 First drop of water
5:06 First time showing the pipeline map
14:23 Third (and last?) score animation: Water Dragon
30:52 Stupid screwup near the end...

Stages:
0:33 Stage 1
5:13 Stage 2
7:43 Stage 3
11:07 Stage 4
13:50 Stage 5
17:30 Stage 6
21:40 Stage 7
25:05 Stage 8
28:32 Stage 9 (Final stage)

I used to play this game a lot with my mother (though I never got as good at it as she did..), which is why Gorby's Pipeline will always have a special place for me.

In this game you have to lay waterpipes all through Russia. There are 9 stages you have to plump your way through to be awarded with fireworks.
Depending on the level you are playing, you'll have to connect a number of pipe from the right to left side of the screen to let the water flow. With each stage, the number of available pipe connections becomes smaller.
There are also a couple of bonuses dropping after a certain number of tiles have fallen, that can make things easier (or harder!) for you.
The first bonus to fall is a jar of (ice-)water.
If you place it on your current water connection, this will fill up the bottom part of the screen with ice-cubes, and take away the bottom pipe connections.
It might seem like a stupid thing to do, but it will actually allow you to rack up significant scores!
The next item is a drill. You can put both drills on top of each other to drill a single row quite far down, or beside each other to drill 2 rows half the amount down, to fix some errors you might've made.
The last item is a waterdrop. When landing this on your open water connection, it will magically connect one set of pipes, which can be a lifesaver at times!

  • Tetris gone mad?

  • @FiXato I'm too lazy to watch the entire video, but the first one is the theme from Swan Lake, a ballet by Tchaikovsky. 7:50 ish is The Great Gate of Kiev by Mussorgsky from Pictures at an Exhibition. 13:50 is Flight of the Bumblebee by Rimsky-Korsakov.
