I don't read usernames often, just comments. The line is not sarcastic; it is ironic. She says it, then proceeds to make fun of what she just said by making a mockery of the "typical" cosmetics commercial, which peddles this unrealistic beauty ideal. It is supposed to be funny because of the irony. But if you take it seriously, very well.

@crimrose Since you are making an effort to read all my messages, I thought that I'd waste a bit of time to repay it. My comment is not on the parody piece in this video, but rather the same message in the Cover Girl commercial. Her line in the commercial is not a sarcastic remark by the way, you need to look it up, Google it, before attempting to argue with others based on your premature assumption. I'm well aware of Ellen's style and views, which conflict with what Cover Girl markets.

@enchantment8 Perhaps she simply prefers to dress in the manner she chooses. In a lesbian relationship, there isn't always a "man" and a "woman" in the relationship. Just because you can't get past the cookie-cutter gender roles of a heterosexual relationship, doesn't mean Ellen has to be subjected to the same thing.

She's making fun of that message! Is it not obvious? It was to me the second I saw it. It was supposed to be ironic! *sigh* Some people just don't understand irony.
