The video says that Therapeutic Recreation helps health and wellness on 6 dimensions, but then it only lists 5 of them...

This video was great. I am so glad I watched it. I have been looking into taking Therapeutic recreation. The course at my cummunity college is in Gerontology. This is a two year transferable course. If I take this will it limit me to only being able to work with seniors?I enjoy the elderly but I would like to make an impact on people from all age groups, should I not take this course? Also can you work solely with animal therapy? is it a different course?cause I really love animals too.Thanks

I am a student. My major is Recreation Management w/ emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation (TR). It's a Bachelor's and at the end I'll take an exam for a national certification. (Most states also require a state certification.) I chose this major because its versatility with who I work with and what we do. I have learned some about animal therapy but it wasn't in classes but at a professional convention. I'm glad you like the video and I'm really glad it got you asking questions.
