@flippinup part 2- And yes, tell Dad not to worry abt my dowry. I'll live with you all my life and take care of you when you grow old. However, if you still think I'll be a burden upon you, don't spend money on this operation either. I'll tell God that my mom should only see me dead now." Then the mother in law says "daughter-in-law, what are you thinking? Should we go home? We have to get ready to welcome our little fairy. Let's go." Hope this helps!
@flippinup It's in Hindi. The lady (mother in law) says "daughter-in-law, I want a boy only." Then the daughter-in-law hears the baby girl in her womb saying "Mom, the lines of destiny haven't even formed on my hands and you've already decided my fate. Mom, let me live. I swear upon myself, I'll never annoy you. After eating, once you feed me dessert, I'll always do the dishes for you. Mom, don't worry abt my school fees. I'll study on my own using brother's books.
Changing the practice of dowry would be helpful in the backcountry towns of India. Instead of the family of the bride paying money to the family of the groom, both families should put money into the pot for the newlyweds' account. In return, the younger couple should take care of the parents of both the wife and husband in their old age. Thus, equal burden, equal investment, and no need for killing.
this subject really touches my heart, i can't beleive how much this is going in India i honestly could not stop the tears from streaming down my face in this, truly amazing <3
They should have added "it's dad's fault I'm a girl, anyway."

@Rickyrab dowry was banned in India 20 years ago. But India's police system sucks so people carry on those traditions
