The sixth step of the serve is to swing to your contact point. From the racket drop, swing up on edge as if you were trying to hammer a nail into the tennis ball. At the last second, pronate at the forearm and wrist so that you make contact with your strings.

  • Hi. Im also from Argentina.

For my work its hard to keep a day and hour for tennis lessons, so a "learn" playing with friends. When a serve i hit the ball with the racket almost diagonal with the net. The ball get some effect but lacks powers. Its a very "slow" shot and easy to return. I try to do this shot, but most of the time the ball end up to long. Any adavice on how to "re educate" my arm, or how to make my original serve more faster and stronger? Thx.

    (sorry for my inglish)

  • hard to make a recommendation w/out seeing your motion. i'd suggest you simplify everything and focus on the fundamentals of the shot. definitely takes time to get the technique down.

  • u cant imagine how usefull is this video to me.... thanks from Argentine.

  • No problem. Glad to help!

  • This is by far the hardest step of the serve. Every time I execute the racket drop, fully push off my legs ready to strike the ball, the ball always hits the side of my racket and flies high and wide. I dont know whether its my ball toss or the fact that am not pronating fast enough. Rele hard skill, but i love the challange of learning it. By the way FYB, UR A GENIUS! Great coach. Come to London and be my Coach DAMMIT LOL

  • Haha thx =)

  • @FYB2007 is this "open the face from the racket" technique a reason to reduce air resistance?? And to have a more powerful serve?

  • The high five tip helped me a lot, thanks for the video

  • your so gay i kood barely see after watching this video-_-

  • Excellent recommendations and breakdown of this complex stroke. Thanks from Argentina !!!

  • too much to learn

great vids, alot to take in and practice

  • Your videos are awesome! This helped me alot. My coach keeps telling me to finish my right arm motion first and then toss the ball. Is that really true? I mean, he's not a really good coach in my opinion so should I toss and do my right arm motion or finish the motion first then toss it? (I'm ambidextrous if that helps)

  • Need exercise tips for tennis ?

  • I also play tennis. My coach say's i let the ball drop everytime i serve. How can i know i'm doing that.

  • choke up on the handle and flick, that should teach it

  • @FirstTurnKill

Not rlly. Pros use eastern backhand grip to serve a kick. Some even use it for flatserve.
