@apraku1000 Yes he is Brazilian. He was born there but when he was a kid he and his mom lived in the US for a few years before moving back to Brazil. Then in 1990 he came back & taught BJJ with Rorion before opening his own school.
I’ve never heard him speak in Portuguese either. Maybe he only speaks it with family and other native speakers. There are a few other Gracie's with blond hair, & blue, hazel, or green eyes. For some reason they're just not as well known as the darker complected ones.

@d3rfliw The Gracie family's ancestry was originally from Scotland. Brazil is a very racially diverse country & the Gracie's have lived there for at least 7 generations now and have obviously intermarried with many of the country's non-white population. Most especially those from Helio Gracie's lineage are darker complected, but some Gracies from Carlos' side do have lighter features.
Also Cesar lived in the US as a teenager with his mom for several years which is why his English is so good.

by a legend in his fist mma fight ever fight if you knew anything about mma or bjj you would know ceaser gracie is amazing. he trains some of the best fighter out there. i went to one of his seminars and he has such a wealth of grappling knoweldge it would boggle your mind. just because he loses his first fight ever to a legend doesn't mean he doesn't know anything about jiu-jitsu he would tap you out 50 times in 5 minutes...grow up douche
