engine has a nice sound

Hi ScientificClo. Great work. Can you give an update on your engine?
-
nice job,, Iv only put together a small lamina engine so far but have been wondering how viable it would be to scale it up.. Now iv seen this i think i may have to have a go .. Great Work

I reminds me of a stirling engine. Nice system you have there

Great engine, is the length of the hot side tube critical? Do you have a restrictor between hot side & cold side & also is there a s/s wool regenerator in the hot tube?
Thanks for you video very informative.

@ScientificClo, have you tried to charge the gas in the cylinder to a higher pressure and see if you can get more power out of the engine? Have you measure the efficiency of the engine?

This is the best engine I have seen. I am working on a similar design except that it works like a two stroke engine with external combustion.

I don't think he is using any stack. A so called thermoacoustic engine essentially works like a 2 stroke engine with external combustion so the air in the cylinder is reused with some heat removed by the cold end. Power density is inversely to efficiency. The more heat removed by the cold end, the greater the power output and lower efficiency.
