Please note: I did not come up with this invention. I saw it in a video by "ribbitz". All credit for the idea belongs to him. You can view his original video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqfJxRhQB2s

The reason I've posted this video is show people my compact version of it, how to build it from scratch, how you can wire it, and just how easy it is to build one. I love his idea and want to help people take advantage of it.

What his device does is detect water and sends an inverted redstone signal indicating if there is water. I demonstrate how to use the device to implement a secret locking mechanism for your doors. There are many other applications you could use this for.

  • @Radi0ActivSquid ahem reading trough the comments would be a nice idea to start with :D

saddly as of beta something.something boats dont float up against vertical waterflows. the to be detected water needs to come from the side to your "detector block" (the one without a pressureplate). then it works completely fine. please thumb this or any similar comment up ppl, to remove the complaints from this awesome video

  • I'm watchin' in the days of 1.0.0

Not Beta 1.0.0, FULL RELEASE 1.0.0

    We've come a long way.

  • with the way double doors act in 1.2(.3), you do the same thing but without the torch on the side of the pressure plate. the doors would be open when you put the water in.

  • then how would you get in?

  • Oh my god thats AWESOME!

  • @NebulaOrbit easy enough. I will be killing so many things soon.

  • @Blasted2Oblivion yup, just change the way the water flows in from the side instead above

  • @NebulaOrbit Good for making a less than obvious doorknob/trap. Does it still work for 1.1.0?

  • @MetalChickenStudios no, it works, it's just that the water has to come from the side of the boat where there are no pressure plates, instead of from on top, just got to tweak it a bit

  • @kurtisymca You go to your mine (If any), start mining untill you find 3 pieces of iron ore, and then you burn them into Iron Bricks in a furnace using 2 planks, and make a new bucket using this recepie:

    E E E

    I E I

    E I E

Where E is Empty, and I is Iron brick.

  • what if you died and don't have a bucket?
