For more info: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ElevenRack Mitch Gallagher discusses the new Eleven Rack Pro Tools LE Interface and Guitar Effects Unit from Digidesign. In this second of two Sweetwater Minutes devoted to the Eleven Rack, Mitch shows how the unit functions as an amp-emulating plug-in, and how it works with other ProTools interfaces.

  • There sure are a lot of whiners commenting on part one of this video. The Eleven Rack is a PRO TOOLS SYSTEM for under $900 -- and no latency on the guitar processing. Geez! That's GREAT! I have one, and although I get most of my live and studio sounds through Native Instruments Guitar Rig 4, I'm still glad I have 11rack for the connections and options it gives me. Way better for me than a 002 or 003. Hooray for Digi.

  • I own one - it's a great box. It's unfortunate though that you can't use route audio using multiple interfaces at the same time as Mitch points out. You can control presets and even save preset info right to the track - but to use both interfaces at the same time you'd need to route your audio outside the box instead of over USB. You also can't route audio over USB with Pro Tools HD and Eleven Rack. It is a great sounding box though. Get one!

  • can you use the eleven rack as a interface for other gear or just a guitar.i have a gretsch but also a microsampler and a dr-880 so can i run audio from all thru this or is it just for guitars.also will it work with protools m powered 8 daw or just protools le.

  • It looks like the Eleven Rack has to be pretty close to your computer, correct? Is the E.R. connected to the computer vis USB cable?

  • @dayingyang0 i own one and it's the best purchase I've made. you can get great sound with it once you learn how to really use it. the amp emulation is as good as axe-fx, the only downside to it is it's lack of effects but the only substantial effects that it is missing is an pitch shifter, octaver, and harmonizer. i own both and looking back i wish i had just bought the 11 rack because the axe fx costs twice as much for a few more effects.

  • @dayingyang0 I have expirience with it, will recomend more the axe fx because of versatility and because tube amps are expensive

  • @dayingyang0 personal experience. There's one in a studio I record in regularly, and we've never been able to get a good sound out of it. It sounds bland and processed. I've gotten better, more realistic tones from IK's Amplitube 3. Just because it's Pro Tools, it doesn't mean it's good.

  • @felipescalador - is your statement based on actual first hand experience or based on the audio from this video?

  • @Gtarist62 - you're judging that by personal experience or by listening to the audio on this video?

  • Thanks Mitch.

  • The Eleven sounds pretty cheesy. Pretty expensive, too.
