Translated 99% of all items (and 20% of all item descriptions).
Please, READ everything before you ask QUESTIONS.
Anyways, no matter how much I drank and smoked yesterday, I still managed to find a very fast way to translate all items. The only items I didn't translate were:

- A weird fish (Rare-2 30z Can be bought off a felyne outside your house) //fixed it was Scalefish
- Macha Pots (Don't know what they are for, so I didn't bother)
- A weird item that is not even in Kaede's list. Probably related to balista shots or cannon balls....
- Something else. That line does not make any sense //fixed, but there is one more that I missed. don't know what that is yet..

Questions you might have:
- When Can I Try Your Translation Out?
Whenever I get the codebreaker codes for online play. Capcom and Playstation hates this device (Especially Nintendo), so they like to be ignorant to people that use it and even claim it illegal etc. Therefore, they are really hard to find, and I can't test a lot of items and menus, and how they show up on a screen. I am not going to release a patch until I try out a few online quests. My game crashed once, just because I tried to change a few strings they were not supposed to be changed. PlayStation pointers are a bit different from PC, it's kinda hard to explain. If you translated a game, you would know what I mean. Change stuff that you are not supposed to change and it blows up.

-What's FrstAid?? Why not First-Aid??
Well, some names can not be longer than they have to be. That's why they have to be shortened out. Just like in previous example, if you translated a game, you know what I mean. If you still want to argue, take a look at Monster Hunter 2G fan translation for the PSP. I am not saying it's impossible to fix, but it is VERY VERY hard to do.
The limit can be 8, 16, 24, 32,.... characters.

Still No Sound??
Sorry, but you will have to deal with it... I figured what the problem was, so next time there will be sound.

  • keep up the good work. Are you still going to release the patch on Easter Sunday?

  • Since I know the codes now, most likely. As long as my PCSX does not crash when I try them out, and my friend's codebreaker works (emulation is good, but real PS2 is even better). And if I have enough time tomorrow....

  • I WANT IT tell me what to do to get a copy of this

  • @Dexter103Morgan Just another update, I am able to view the data in its original japanese now , but I can't copy and paste the values. I was planning on using a translation program to interpret the game. When I copy the values they seem to turn back to UTF 8 instead of UTF16

  • @Dexter103Morgan Just an update, I have found out that the data.bin file contains all the text for the game. I am sure it contains many other things, but I found out using a hex editor that it does indeed at least include your translated item names. However, nothing that is in japanese even appears as japanese characters. Its all just jumbled ascii values. If you can help me out it would be appreciated. If anyone cares to have a FULL translation please share your knowlege!

  • I doubt I will ever get a response but here it goes :p

I want to create a full translation of this game, but I don't know which files to alter, if anyone can help me out I would appreciate it. I have the MH2 ISO and I can translate the actual language and I know how to create the ppf. I just don't know what files contain the actual quest, comments and item names etc.. if there is anyone who can help me out I would appreciate it!
