Planting a test garden if done properly can really improve your deep target identification and recovery. Deep coins don't always sound good.

  • RON! thank you thank you~! I just got my e-trac and put about 8 hrs in it and ALWAYS wondered what the deep coins like these sound like but didnt have any with me! this is sooooo helpful! does that manual at 28-30 in parks false and bounce all the time? or is it pretty stable?

  • @TLCphoenix It is a lot more noisy than Auto +3 thats for sure. I see it like your car sterio, auto is like the scan button it gets all the signals that are clean, Manual is like just turning the dial you hear every station.

  • What is the best detector for a beginner to start out with? Old fart here looking for a hobby that will pay for it's self. Thanks for any replies,,, chucknsc@yahoo.com

  • Oldest american coin yet today. 1814 large cent. 9-10 inches 1-32 through 1-37 repeated 2/3rds of the time. Middle of a hunted out park. Thanks Ron wouldn't have dug without this video.

  • I think that these tests are not completely realistic because the ground has just been disturbed. This probably makes the coins easier to detect.

  • I hate you!! Now folks all over will be digging MY deepies!!

Well done Ron! Thanks for taking your time to do it.

  • Great video and helpful. Thanks Do you have any suggestions for handling the times when you're swinging and get one chirp that sounds good but you can't repeat it? No matter how you swing the coil over the same area.

  • That was really well done Ron - thanks for going to the effort of creating this video and sharing. As a result - my next "round the house" project - will be my own test garden. Cheers Ian.

  • Nice job Ron.

  • Hi, did you noise cancel before testing? Also after you do that you can get the etrac to raise the sensitivity fast by pumping the coil up and down as if you were ground balancing. Machine did not seem stable... Or you have some seriously mineralized soil in your yard. Jmho HH
