BRITISH GIBRALTAR, This is my homeland. PROUD to be a Gibraltarian.
Our homeland is not for sale. We are proud people and we shall NEVER surrender.

@Ifrit1602 completely agrees, i lived there for over a year and visit my friends there at least twice a year and usually a lot more. Gibraltarians are a wonderful people, it's their country so they choose who and what they want to be.

@Sky1green Maybe Bristol was not the best place to choose in this alternate universe, considering its population is about ten times bigger than gibraltar and its right in the middle of south west England rather than on the edge of a peninsula(maybe Penzance would have been a better option) Anyway overlooking that Bristol would now be a nation in its own right not truly belonging to Spain or Britain. English? the overseas territories refer to Britain collectively my friend.

@Sadanreturns Gibraltar is Gibraltar, they may fly British flags along with their own but they are self sufficient politically and economically. In practise they are not a colony of Britain and I think the title of overseas territory should be removed as it means nothing really. In reality it doesn't belong to Spain or Britain.

Gibraltar is Spanish.
Gibraltar es español, solo que con banderas británicas en todos los laos.
-
@justtakeiteasy Erm it clearly is lol

If I lived in Gibraltar I'd paint a Union Jack on my arse, walk to the border every morning, turn my back towards spain and drop my trousers.
I'm not normally like this, but seeing as there's so much anti-english sentiment from spaniards these days...

CONT-- , and some cheeky Spaniards said "Oh no, never, the people of Bristol (now descendants of the settlers established there by Spain in 1704 and newcomers alike) have the right to decide their future, and they want to remain Spanish".
Nice, uh?
Ahhhhhh, the Ulster Plantations, the Malvinas, Gibraltar, etc... same trend. What a lovely people the English are!!. Always caring about rights, reason and civilized manners. Keep on singing this charming song.
True... our pride will rise greater than you could possibly imagine.. There are good and bad in every in culture. What will make us survive and move beyond the standard is our method of being diplomatic, understanding and empathetic to the cause which most follow. Power and strength is is shown beyond bullying and provocation.. only in understanding and rising greater than the pathetic provocateurs or wars and conflict - only peace is the solution..

Very True. Understanding each others situation is crucial and respecting each others convictions is paramount in this day and age. Bulling has no place in a modern society........democracy and human rights must prevail. That is the reason we lost so many good men and women in the past wars..!
Its been interesting chatting to you and I hope you have at least understood the point of view of a small insignificant few(Gibraltar).
Wish you well and invite u to visit a piece of Britain in the Med!

Look what good both sides keeping up the hard line in Northern Ireland did. Yes, I agree with you about Ceuta & Melilla. Morocco is taking that up with Spain. Yes, I enjoy Ibiza thank you. Nice place to be. Better than the Costa del Sol, in my opinion. Was Portugal taken by force from Spain? Please, tell me.. Anyway, I end this exchange of opinions by wishing you well, peace and prosperity. I hope that Spain and Gibraltar can really come to en equally beneficial agreement and live in harmony

I too would like to wish you well &prosperity in your new home in Ibiza, I have heard incredibly bad stories from friends who have been there about binge drinking, assaults, rapes to british girls ,drugs in bars etc etc but I will reserve my opiniion until i actually see it and visit Ibiza.
we hope and pray that a democratic and human solution can be found in the near future based on modern times and not in treaties made by past dictators/king who looked after their own self and not the people.

There are many more incidents of this type occur constantly. On the radio I have heard of several cases where British people wanting to set up residence in Gibraltar were treated with racism by the residents!! When I visited there was proud that 'Mother England' retains her colonial heritage through choice of the residents. But then it's more sinister than that, isn't it? My point is, let's be friends with Spain. Negotiate a little. This issue will never go away. Spain should also pipe down too

British people in Gibraltar after a few years become more gibraltarian than us gibraltarians! They are more than welcomed in Gibraltar and live a life among friends.I am a friend of spain but i am not a friend of their policy towards gibraltar.sorry! Its about time u said something positive and advise spain tp pipe down..........who knows we might even convert u back into english!!!
