I have been looking for a lightweight trailer for years and figured I might as well build my own the way I want it. Don't think I did too bad a job for a girl? Not all by myself totally. My Dad did help on some of the hard parts like cutting the hatch out, the trim and he has built the galley and sleeping cabin cupboards! :-)

  • yes, it is a way to waterproof the hinge. It is actually rubber inner tube. works perfectly!! could not find a hurricane hinge here in nova scotia. there is rubber behind the sleeping cabin door hinge as well.

  • Finally a mini van built by a girl!! I am thinking of building one this summer as I love the look of them. Did you use a book or plans? It looks fabulous so I bet you are proud.

  • @fandoogley sorry for the late reply! No, I made my own plans by looking at You Tube, Ebay and any other sites that may have pics of teardrops. There is also a really good forum out there called: Teardrops & Tiny Travel Trailers. A great place to pick other folks brains! you should build on if you can! No better feeling than having your own by building it!!
