Sarah Sapienza is a long-time talker. A hoot and a half, she's an east coast transplant with regional pride to spare, Sarah's work reflects her internal and external need for understanding and forgiveness, covering issues as wide ranging as hockey and the atom bomb. Slamming for ten years, Sarah was a member of the '01 youth team out of Burlington, Vermont. She competed on both the adult and youth team at the same time in '02 (in Ann Arbor and Minneapolis respectively), and was the Burlington iWPS rep in '03. In her younger days, she hosted and coordinated slams across the state of Vermont, and has been teaching poetry workshops nationally and internationally for the past six years. She is currently teaching students with emotional and behavioral disabilities outside of Seattle. She regularly hosts Seattle's longest running weekly show - the Seattle Poetry Slam. She thinks that raincoat looks really good on you.
