  • Christians are not persecuted. You're the majority! Seperating church from state isn't persecution, it's protecting those that theocrats would persecute given the chance (and since the christians are the majority that would be the non christians they'd be persecuting.)

    Yesh, get some perspective.

  • Moistpup - First thanks for commenting. Secondly, I am not sure the point was that Christians are being persecuted. Also, never really tried to pull church and state into the thought process. Perhaps you menat to comment on a different video.

  • Nice video, This "Christ Follower", concept is not a new one.

All the Apostles were called Followers of the Way, before they were called Christians. But, could this be a new wave of Followers; who do not want to be labled as Conservative Christian Fundamentalist?

  • That's a fine observation. I guess my concern is "who cares what you are labeled?" People need to stop seeking reasons to be offended.

  • I'm not offended by anything. The reason for my questioning the concept. Is just as it was during the Roman Empire A.D. 90-95 Christians were persecuted for not worshiping the Roman Emperor. As is today Chistians are persecuted for their belief in Christ. Seperating yourself from a radical group, is not offensive, it is defensive.

  • That's an interesting way to think of it and honestly, I never considered that notion. Still, I see no need to label for the sake of being "different" - either way, I do hope the church adn others who delve into labels are able to reach new people and bring them to know Christ. Thanks for your comments.

  • A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. Thank you for clearing up the difference.

  • Very nice. And only God knows whats inside. Let's love and not judge.

  • God defines the terms of the relationship via the Scripture!!

Otherwise it's more like an imaginary friend.

Men are in rebellion to God with a religious ferver - and that includes the irreligious.

  • Right, but the question is the motive and use of variant language. Labels, words, and similar things are made to communicate. The question is, "What is this person trying to communicate by using this?"

Hippies, Jesus People, and Emergent Church seem to be crazy with the term Christ but lethargic to the Person, as He defines Himself. Christ taught that people had to repent.

  • I domnt see the difference between a Christian and a Christ Follower cuz, quite frankly, there is no difference, the Christian is a Christ Follower and the Christ Follower is Christian. For when the term Christian was first used, see Acts 11:25-26.

  • I failed to mention in my last reply that "Christian" does in fact mean "Christ follower." This entry appears in Strong's Greek Dictionary:

    5546. Χριστιανος Christianos, khris-tee-an-os'

    from 5547; a Christian, i.e. follower of Christ:--Christian

  • I can see where you get the idea that this video reinforces the originals, but it seems to me that the intended message of this video was to be aware of the divisive nature of labels. Some of my friends adopted the Christ Follower label to show contempt for those who still consider themselves Christians. The label "Christian" is not a bad label. It means "Christ-like" or "belong to Christ."

  • That's the way! I am a christ follower too!

  • I think what you've put up here only reinforces the original videos, which is fine. The whole point is that "Christian" doesn't mean "Christ follower" - it IS what matters on the inside in your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. :)
