My performance of Wie Melodien Zieht Es Mir by Brahms. I am 18 at the time and this was taken soon after a few months of illness, so it's not the best it could be. :)

Update 5/7/10: Since someone commented on the mike, I may as well say this now: I sang this in a large high school auditorium that eats sound, hence the mike. The sound simply could not have carried. Generally, I performed in recital spaces, and would never use a mike. I say this in past tense because I have since quit singing.

  • @classicalgalNYC

I used to study. I stopped after the first year of college-wasn't for me. I transferred and stopped singing.

  • You have an amazing are you studying at university for music? :)

  • Im singing this song currently for my state honors chior auditions... god this is making me nervous.... so so nervous

  • Did you really stop singing? You have a gorgeous, mature voice, keep singing!

  • i can't believe you stopped singing... such a tragedy. you are SO TALENTED. i'll smack you if you don't start singing again. really.

  • This is lovely. Your voice is rich throughout your range. I can't believe you were only 18 when you sang this; your voice sounds much more mature than that. I also love the tempo that you took this at; some people sing it slower but if you look at the words of the poem you can see that Brahms did not intend for this to be sung slowly. I am learning this song right now (at the ripe old age of 55). Brava!!

  • why did you stop singing? your voice is beautiful! im a singer myself and searching for help on pronunciations for this song. you helped me soo much! my contest is in two weeks from today and although I passed the first round, your performance has helped me to be prepared for this next contest. Thank you very much! And you should definately SING!!!!

  • This is beautiful. i think you did an amazing job. i feel that one note was sharp, but your vowels are amzaing and clear. I'm working on this song right now. hopefully i'll sound as good as you.

  • what's with the microphone?

pretty sure Mr. Brahms the genius wouldn't have approved!

Also, Brahms is a mezzo lover.

This song ws probably originally written for a mezzo-soprano, not a soprano.

    Otherwise, good!
