The Marathon of Pheidippides:Third Movement

A 16 minute tone poem for solo violin, divided into its 5 movements so it can fit onto YouTube. This movement is subtitled 'Anxiety.' The extramusical material is the story (doesn't matter what the version is)

I appreciate feedback, be it constructive criticism or praise. Insults just waste space so its best not to post them in the first place.

I'm no Bach or Beethoven, so don't expect anything like that. If you can't appreciate this, don't leave disparaging comments.

This piece is not intended for specific use somewhere and thus, as the copyright holder, I allow any usage of this piece. I'd still like to know where its being used though if someone does want to use it.

I could give my version of what's going on, but I'll leave the interpretation to others.

Thanks for commenting. I see where you are coming from. What I had done was to modify the key and the tempo to try to suggest anxiety but still keep a beautiful sound. I had hoped that the difference would stand out when heard with the other movements together. Well, what's done is done.

I like this, so I don't wish to change it. I might change the name.

You can't compliment the playing- I'm just a composer, not a player. This is synthesised, believe it or not. Glad you enjoyed it.

I enjoyed the piece very much. Excellent violin playing . . . a beautiful singing, rich tone. Perhaps the piece could benefit from more dynamics. I didn't sense "anxiety" from the music; it left me feeling quite good.
