My gameplay on Gambys (PC/MS-DOS version). XD Enjoy!
------------------
The next game I'm going to record the gameplay, almost no one in the world know it. I bring to the world a game that everyone should have knowledge of it due to its high quality that still remains on the present.
I present you, with proud, "Gambys", made for Windows 95/MS-DOS.
This is a strategy and a puzzle game, and the first game ever to be made in Portugal, 100% portuguese. It was made in the beggining of the 90s by workers from two companies called "Viagem Interactive" and "Portidata". The game was distributed in Portugal and some Spanish cities. It sold on the Iberian market more or less between 1996-2001. Unfortuneatly the game didn't expand its commercializing due to political issues, and sadly both companies went bankrupt short time after.
Sadly, this game lost compactibility starting on Windows ME. Another bad news is this game is impossible to emulate on DOSBox/D-Fend Reloaded, but only very recently I find out an alternative way to emulate it (Later I can upload the game disk image and a tutorial to how emulate the game). Due to emulation, the screen transitions aren't being well emulated, and music is perhaps 99% well emulated. The only way to run this perfectly is to have an old computer with MS-DOS 6 (or better)/Windows 95/98 installed, which is something I'm looking forward to do.
So, what's Gambys about? The story tells us that Planet Earth is dying due to the polution produced by the Man and to solve that, we need to help the Good Gambys. The main goal? Restoring wild life pictures by destroying blocks with the help of the good Gambys and tools. The only control you have is the mouse. Sounds easy? Not really. There are Bad Gambys that are trying to stop us from restoring pictures.
I'm playing this game in Portuguese, but English language (among French, German and Spanish) are available. I wrote annotations (be sure to activate them) in order to non-Portuguese watchers being able to read the texts.
I dedicate these gameplay videos to Luís Peres (the artist of the game - he owns a website: www.luisperes.net ) and to everyone who worked on this game.
You can download GAMBYS for free in its official website: http://www.luisperes.net/gambys_videogame.html
Well, I hope you enjoy my videos! ^^
This actually reminds me of a game called Gubble.
