This video is of my loss of control and recovery in the Speed Skiing event in the 1992 Olympics in Albertville, France. The speed was about 170 km/h at the point in the course where the problem occured. The right ski drifted out, and I thought the initial ski strike had broken my leg. When I pulled the ski in the leg worked so I kept fighting the wind and momentum to avoid a (probably very bad) crash...but the race "cut" run was ruined and I was forced to console myself with the rest of the festivities in Albertville.
You managed to save yourself you had great skill, remember in that Olympic Games a colleague died on a severe crash against a machine!
