WONG:
And this story is for all our viewers who have a bit of a sweet tooth. Tokyo is holding the International Patisserie Grand Prix. Pastry chefs from eight countries are vying for the title of world's best patisserie maker. Lets take a look.

STORY:
Top patisserie chefs from France, Italy, The United States, Singapore, China, Malaysia, Australia and Japan showed off their creative flare.

The 13-hour competition was split over two days. The chefs competed in categories like sugar showpieces, chocolate showpieces, and mmmmm plated deserts.

[Motoko Maruko, Pastry Teacher]:
"I find it very interesting to see the combinations, colors and materials that I had never seen before."

At the end of the competition, the championship trophy went to Team Japan, which wowed the judges with the elegance of its sugar and chocolate showpieces.

[Toshinori Akishiro, Team Japan]:
"We are satisfied with the result. We want to keep the momentum going and win the next championship as well.

France came in a close second, followed by the United States, who won third place. Organizers say the Tokyo event will be held biennially hoping to meet the ranks of similar established competitions.
