Eria Fachin & McMaster Jazz Band 1981

Tune: 'Our Love Is Here To Stay' arranged by the trumpet soloist Ian Townsend, performed by the McMaster Jazz Band in Edmonton in 1981 at the closing concert after winning the Canadian Open Stage Band competition. The conductor was Jim Howard (very prominent in the Canadian Jazz movement)In the full screen picture of the band about 1:55min in, I am the second trombone player from the right. It was a pleasure to perform on a number of occasions with Eria singing with the band, sadly she passed away several years ago

I too was saddened to hear of her passing. Eria had such a sweet yet powerful voice. She and I worked together, she as singer and me as arranger in the early days of her career. I was so looking forward to watching and hearing her blossom into the stardom she deserved. Too early, too early...Ian T.

i`m so sorry 2 hear eria had passed away,what a lovely singer,im only really familiar with savin myself,i hear a symphony etc,which still pack dancefloors today.rip eria x

It is so awesome to see a video of the late, great Eria! She looks and sounds lovely. I am mostly familiar with her from her late-80's pop-dance days, so it's really surprising to see her sing in this style! Interestingly, she put out a little-known record in this same year (1981) called "Not Your Puppet," which is also very good!
