The original sound effects were much better. The new ones that Harmony Gold added are really cheesy. Why the hell did they change them?!

The interactions between the humans the the master's race are the highlight of this season. I wish there was more of it. Dana's strong impulsive personality contrasts the uniform emotionless aliens very well.

It's probably because they changed the entire soundtrack -- I bet that the sound effects and original BGM were the same audio track, so they had to put in new sound effects when they changed the music. The original music in Southern Cross was pretty lame (although this BGM is lame too) but the original sound effects were better, you're right.

This is one of the best, most emotional episodes of the entire series. The animation and action are top-notch; the drama and psychological qualities of this show really intensify from this episode onward. Definitely some of my favorite anime ever.

Now I just have to find a copy of the original (non-Robotech) show... :)
