I sang this song at a party at Marousi and the guests were impressed

Both this version and Dylan's version are amazing psychedelic-folk songs
-
all good one of john,s very best.

Dylan managed to out-country Cash, if just one this one track. Skeeter Davis stomps them both into submission though.

Before you go goo-goo ga-da over Johnny's version ,listen to the original, by the Davis Sisters (Betty Jack Davis and Skeeter Penich) Talk about owning a song, they were the best cut ever. An accident killed her partner Betty Jack , and Skeeter (Penick) Davis was seriously injured. But any who heard their great hit song will never forget it. She performed solo as Skeeter Davis and was much loved and the Everly brothers followed in their style of harmony, trailblazers cut down too soon.
