The first amendment merely makes sure that the government does not ADOPT A SPECIFIC RELIGION. It is NOT about separation of religious believes from the governing bodies. You can't even interpret two simple sentences, it's in fact telling us that we are free to worship in any way that we want! Freedom to believe in God and to adopt his laws and commandments.
