First recorded by Howlin Wolf recorded in the early 1960s

I have a little red rooster, too lazy to crow for day
I have a little red rooster, too lazy to crow for day
Keep everything in the barnyard, upset in every way
Oh the dogs begin to bark,
and the hound begin to howl
Oh the dogs begin to bark, hound begin to howl
Ooh watch out strange kind people,
Cause little red rooster is on the prowl
If you see my little red rooster, please drag him home
If you see my little red rooster, please drag him home
There ain't no peace in the barnyard,
Since the little red rooster been gone

  • FUCKIN STONES MAN

  • This was Brian Jones' favourite Rolling Stones record, according to Paul Jones (Manfed Mann and the Bluesband) who knew him well. Great sound, pure blues with an effortless feel.

  • One of my dads Favs....:)

  • The lyrics are so god damn cool, nothing more to say.

  • my little red rooster ran around the barn at least 3 times after i chopped off his head.

Keith is playing in Standard tuning. The chords are G, C, D if i'm not mistaken. Brian Jones is playing lead slide guitar in Open G Tuning. Keith would start playing his five-string open G Tuning Telecaster in 1969 after studying alternate tunings with Ry Cooder.

  • drinkin music..

  • @calholli Thanks calholli, will defo give this a go, got a few weeks to get sorted, but I'm sure this will be just great, thanks very much, oh yeah and will try the rest too, will let you know how I get on x

  • @9871MINI download "Audacity" (its free recording software)... set it for "stereo record" and it will record anything that is playing through your speakers... Open audacity in one window, this song in another.. press record on aud. and quickly press play on youtube.... press stop on aud. when its done.. and go to "export" in the options... it will save it on your computer as an mp3 or whatever else you tell it to... then you can burn it!! this is how I burn all my cds.. works great.

  • If you see my little red rooster...... Pleeeeeeaaaaaassssseeee drive him home!
