For string tricks you want a yo-yo that is butterfly-shaped. Any name-brand yo-yo will work fine, but my favorites are the Duncan Freehand Zero, and anything by Yo-yo Factory.

If you watch very closely, and try it with your yo-yo you will be able to figure the trick out. It is basically a more complex version of Double or Nothing. The main difference being the way that you lay the string over your hand before landing the yo-yo on the middle string. Also, check out Hop in the Bucket for a longer view.
