My Parents HATE my Natural Hair

How could parents be against natural hair? I think it's a terrible thing, telling kids that they have to change how they look from as young ages as they start to relax them at! If these people feel like the natural hair is holding them back from getting a job, it's not like they can't just get it relaxed at that point, right?
Maybe I just don't get it 'cause I'm white, but I think fros are beatiful and super cool! :D
Gotta rock what you've got, right?
Why change what's already beautiful? <3

I will be 21 in about 3 weeks.. And my dad does not like for one bite that I'm goin natural. On the the 10th I will be 7 months post relaxer and am planing to do my big chop on that day as well. I perviously planed to bc at 3 months post and he was like don't do that. Please don't do that to your self. And like now when ever he sees me he's like "hey nappy head" so I mean I know he loves me but some people just don't get it and maybe it's goin to take some time and maybe they never will but I t

I think its mainly people older than 25 that have problems with natural hair. Different times, etc.

I am two yesrs natural after transitioning amd cutting off relaxed ends, which is what I would recommend to a teenager.. I have two daughters and I want them to know that their hair is beautiful the way it is and more importantly, they are beautiful inside and out... That is what that young ladies parents should be teaching her.

I can understand exactly where shes coming from... Im 35 & my grandmother told me she hated my hair amd the way I looked... Family members and black coworkers with the comments and stares... All of that was very hurtful.. My husband gave in after six months and accepted it... All of this to say... Am I not beautiful the way I was born.? Other races LOVE my hair!! The compliments I get are amazing! All of this to say that, yes, people can be mean, but I was true to myself and loved me..

2%? Dumbness. I understand where that is coming from though. The commenter below me grew up the way most black girls do, with natural hair and kitchens and stuff being treated as bad things. I am glad women are waking up and seeing that natural hair is so versatile. Not everyone looks good with short relaxed hair either, and unfortunately a lot of black women with relaxers have an even harder time growing it out....

I dont care if tis natural or fake but I would say maybe two percent of woman can pull fo the short hair look and im sorry if this offends youa re not one of them. Dont get me wrong you are pretty but you would be so much more attractive if it was long not straigtened im not saying that but longer.

@VidsByMetz My mum's just like that. She's against my natural hair and actually got upset and tried stopping me from going natural (I did, however, go natural). How she acted made me feel like my hair's not naturally good enough, the hair God gave me's not right etc.
My mum has naturally curly hair (she's British too), but she gets her hair chemically straightened (and did the same thing for me when I was really little). I have way tighter curls, but, I love them! and I don't want to lose them.
My moms the same way, I don't think its that she is hates my natural hair i just believe that they understand what we would have to be subjected to with natural hair. I don't know if that makes any sense lol. Great video
