  • I'm sorry but you couldn't be more wrong. What hurts is not the two tiny clips but the huge incision and massive pelvic disruption you had while having a C-Section. This is an extremely invasive, open procedure. Hopefully you (or your baby) really needed it, but the whole point of SELS is to avoid painful open surgeries such as that. If you'd just had your tubes tied laparscopically, you would be home and have no pain.

  • I just had this done yesterday, and I am in extreme pain from it. I am 27 and in good health, so didn't expect to be in this much pain at all. Lots of vaginal bleeding and horrible cramps that are constant! also started running a fever of 101.6 a few hours ago & a large distended belly which wasn't swollen much this morning! and also I am finding it really hard to pee. lol sorry for that info but really, I have never had a hard time peeing before. Going to see my dr in the am. booo!!!

  • idk how id feel about having a foriegn object in my body

  • @dkbn79 I hope by now you've moved past your discomfort. If not then take note there are other women out there that remain crampy as well as have a whole host of other symptoms that dr.'s wont acknowledge are associated with sterilization.

  • @195manora you should google chapel hill tubal reversal center. They explain it.

  • I had this procedure done at the same time I had my second child via c section. I've had chronic abdominal pain on a daily basis that ranges from a dull ache to sharp stabbing pains that double me over. I also have a persistent lower back ache and at times the pain radiates into the front of my thighs. You need to research this procedure further by googling filshie clip pain. Although rare reactions such as mine happen. Finding a dr. that believes in this complication is damn near impossible.

  • i had this procedure done this morning and i am having alot of discomfort. this looked like it hurt so bad, but my clips are plastic rather than metal in this video.

  • I had this procedure done March 14th - 4 days ago - I am cramping and the gas is causing discomfort. If i had known that it would be this painful i would of asked my husband to go through this instead. I've been told that the recovery for males is so much easier. I am grateful though and look forward to no more birth-control and unwanted pregnancies and the doctor was awesome. Take care ladies : )

  • I am having this procedure done next month. My copayment is just $100. So not exactly free, but cheaper than paying for birth-control for the rest of my life.

  • I am getting this procedure on friday so scared but hoping for the best
