Common Transport in Japan - Having a Bike!

Its crazy, and a pain in the arse in the begining.. But having a bike beats walking any day... To get to and from the station even its good to have a bike if you dont like running in the mornings.
Generally, every Japanese person I know has one. I am also posting vids on cars & public transport. So keep an eye out, cheers :)

even in japan there are byke robers...AH,AH,AAAAAH

sorry that's more comon in south europe, were a flat tyre, no brakes byke can be stolen just for fun. i know that :(

If you to a secondhand/recycle/used shop you can find same bikes for half the price.

I feel for ya man in a throw away culture it's impossible to find decent used goods for sale. I'd just go gomi diving and find a decent one that isn't totally used up and buy new parts for it.

lol I like the bike they call "American" style. No one rides a bike like that unless you're riding an Orange County Chopper :)

Actually, that's about standard pricing for Japan, and perhaps a bit cheaper than some of the U.S. stuff...remember, a great majority of American bikes are welded up overseas, right here in Japan and also China. Sometimes it's cheaper because the international shipping rates are avoided. What I find most funny is how the Japanese go through bikes like they do Kleenex. They are never maintained and always in a sad state of disrepair; flat tires, rusted EVERYTHING, and broken brake cables.

Are they all imported? I don't understand why they'd be so expensive! Compared to prices in the US those seem like they're nearly triple at least.
