Make a homemade facial scrub with two ingredients that you have in your kitchen. Simply mix organic sugar and organic olive oil to make a homemade facial cleanser that will exfoliate and soften your skin.

  • Just wondering if this okay to use on a daily basis? I use this mixture along with honey in it(from Michelle Phan's vids), which is great, but not meant for daily use?

  • @BlazianCharm It totally depends on your skin type. My skin is fairly sensitive and I use this a lot... If the sugar is too abrasive, I would not use it as often. I know the answer is kind of vague, but just do what feels right for your skin.

  • Also exfoliating isn't the same as clean(ser) so choose a mild cleanser like CETAPHIL after this scrub and the reapply a light coat of coconut or avocado.

  • @candrameeks Thanks for your comments! Good insight. Olive oil actually acts as a natural cleanser. The sugar acts as an exfoliator. Also, Cetaphil has an ingredient list that is much harsher on skin than olive oil: Water, cetyl alcohol, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfate, stearyl alcohol, methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben

  • People with sensitive and acne prone skin should use such abrasive sugar. Brown sugar or sugars the are finer are better for those suffering with acne and sen. skin. Olive oil is great however for SS and AP skin it could be too heavy. I would sugg. coconut or avocado.

  • @candrameeks Agreed. You can use a sugar with a consistency that works for you. I also switch out coconut oil for olive oil all the time. Good suggestions :)

  • @SproutSavvy Great, thank you so much :)

  • @melizasimmons2012 I use coconut oil all the time in cosmetics and in cooking. I also use it on my poultry too - it has amazing healing properties.

  • @melizasimmons2012 I am going to try this! Thanks! :)

  • @melizasimmons2012 This is such a wonderful suggestion! I often use coconut oil as a moisturizer and I love how it makes my face look and feel. Thank you so much for your comment.
