@kaunas88 I didn't mean you absolutely need to visit a college to learn something. I'm talking about a college-level education which can be acquired in many ways. However, having a degree will generally make finding a job easier so it really isn't wasted money.

@Miranox2 Absolutely not true. Many majors are next to worthless. So much of college is not useful in the workplace. Even if people do learn something there, most of it can easily be acquired by other much much cheaper sources like books, internet and working. Much of college is simply a luxury and an indigence that a lot of people cannot afford.

@Kingdom007Hearts. In Spain college is almost free, and it also is submediocre filled with people who have jobs for life, big classes and limited funds because the government pays for it all. In France the teaching is a bit better but many of the campus buildings look like something out of Detroit due to lack of money. How are we supposed to pay for free college for everyone?  We are beyond broke now.

@110301839 People have no idea what they are getting into, and unfortunately because of our sentimentality soaked society people are trained to feel rather than think critically. Also the endless self esteem movement gives a lot of people an unrealistic perspective on their future possibilities. Young people are told to go to college no matter what the cost and everything will work out fine...until it does not.
