In today's episode, we deliver to you our very first ever Fishing Tip of the Week (Sea Bass City, baby!), brought to us by Scott Lenox, the host of the very popular fishing show "Hooked on OC" ( http://www.HookedOnOC.com ). Scott's show now airs 4 times a week on The Sportsman Channel.

Next up, it's the Alpha Global Expedition ( http://www.AlphaGlobalEx.com ), where we tell you about British yachtsman, Adrian Flanagan, who recently resumed his quest to sail the first ever single-handed (that's solo) "vertical" (that's north south) circumnavigation of the globe.

As promised last Friday, we then take a look at the hottest boat towables available this summer from SportsStuff.com ( http://www.SporstStuff.com ). And finally, we'll show you a flying cat whose owners ignored the golden rule of always wearing life jackets while out on a boat (which also applies to your pets!).

The Boaters TV, hosted by Julie Perry, airs 4-6 minute episodes every M, W, and Fri at http://www.theboaters.tv .

  • We just noticed an editing blunder in this episode. In our feature on Adrian Flanagan's Alpha Global Expedition, we used a photo of his boat, "Barabas"--but his boat was NOT the trawler in the forefront of the shot (that we mistakenly zoomed in on). Rather, it was the 40-foot sloop sailing yacht far in the background beneath the crane. We zoomed in on the wrong boat: Our apologies!

The sound is a little out-of-sync during the opening as well. It gets worked out.

  • That is one of my all-time favorite tubing pictures!

  • what WAS that cat THINKing?! HAHAHAA - oooh boy - glad you saved THAT shot for the END! lol

  • Thanks for the extra information on both products.

  • And remember, while it is true that the Wego has been recalled and was the subject of a CPSC memo, its cousin the Manta Ray (by Sevylor; also rebranded as the Raptor Blaster by West Marine) was never recalled. It is no longer made, but that is because Sevylor was sold to another company who chose not to continue making the product. Manta Rays are plentiful on eBay.

  • To be precise about kite tubing: it is prohibited on any body of water controlled by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, and in certain states and counties. However, many areas have no ban; for example, it is allowed on many lakes maintained by King County, Washington.

If you have any doubts, find out who maintains the lake or river in question and ask. There is much confusion on this issue; I have heard misinformation from other people on the water, and even from boat and marine dealers.
