@enshala123 Shut Up! Your a coward not only a coward but a retard and a dis-grace to humans go eat manure
-
you talk about loyalty and following orders!
so did the nazis but that doesn't necessarily make it so! from what i read it seemed like he had love for his squad! really what life comes down to is..you have to have heart, and that doesn't mean squeezing a trigger.

how many of you have even read his book?he wasn't a coward!! any idiot can fire a gun,but it takes a real person a strong person to think w/ logic. He went through some really bad things in ar ramadi. that macho attitude is worthless and nothing,so stop!! and then yo wonder why the world is so messed up! instead of planning new wars why dont you put that energy to feeding the poor,to put an end to violence!and hate, instead of just killing away or locking away the problem!

One word for you Mr. Mejia,
COWARD!

"War will exist until that distant day when the conscientious objector enjoys the same reputation and prestige that the warrior does today."

I don't know the guy. But whether he ran because he was a coward, or because he truly believe what he was being ordered to do in Iraq went against his moral instinct because they were unnecessary and inhuman, he did the right thing in coming back. After all the witness reports flowing in of the atrocities being ordered and committed in Iraq, it's no wonder more and more men and women of your army request to be "conscientious objectors". It does not make them cowards, only humans.

why wont you tube post my comments about how it is important though for even the soldiers in the military to stand for human loyalty, even when the huge war machine is brainwashing their brains and suppressing their loyalty to humanity.Like it has happen so many times in history where military power has been used for the most unloyal reasons there is.(ex.nazi germany, soviet union, Chile with Pinochet, China in past & present, USA Iraq war...etc, etc, etc...

Peace to you and all. Specially to all the guys overthere who miss being home with their families leading a "normal" life and all the people who have to do fighting...
The fact that he was the first one kind of destroys your argument that he opposed being sent to Iraq because it was "popular." You may continue with the staw man about his dishonesty, or we can talk about this war that he and a growing number of vets oppose. Supporting this guy has actually been very beneficial, especially when my friends and family were in the military yet felt conflicted about speaking out against the war.
